About Diversiunity

Mission – Positioning – Background

Mission

We partner with actors across the research and innovation ecosystem to turn diversity and inclusion into a strategic advantage by aligning research with the expectations of funders and regulators while also shaping more inclusive frameworks and practices.

We strengthen teams and develop international leaders in diversity, and co-create institutional structures that support competitive, resilient and high-impact research in complex international environments.

Strategic positioning

We work in the complex intersection where international research lives: at the meeting point of proposals and project delivery, leadership and team development, and compliance and impact.

We help institutions navigate and influence the expectations of funders, regulators and political realities, delivering inclusive, credible, and high-performing research results and collaborations.

And based on our experience, we co-shape inclusive funding frameworks with funders and policymakers.

We are ambitious in our goals but pragmatic in our approach, creating sustainable results across legislation, cultures and norms.

Jakob Feldtfos Christensen — Founder & Director.

Jakob brings more than a decade of experience at the intersection of research strategy, funding compliance and inclusive leadership.

  • Research-management pedigree. Eight years inside Danish and European universities: five in pre-award support for the social sciences and humanities, followed by three driving internationalisation and talent-development initiatives. He was among the first cohort to earn EARMA’s Certified Research Manager credential, served on the DARMA board and regularly speaks at EARMA and INORMS conferences.

  • Sector-specific foresight. Jakob tracks the evolving policy and funding landscape in life-science, green-transition and dual-use/defence research, translating their inclusion and accessibility requirements into actionable blueprints. This groundwork equips new consortia to anticipate compliance hurdles and seize opportunities before the first proposal is even drafted. Having steered proposal optimisation, audit and leadership training, Jakob understands the regulatory and cultural pressures your consortia face.

  • Inclusive-research specialist. His work translates the funders and EU policy expectations on diversity, equity and accessibility into pragmatic action plans that boost competitiveness and public trust.

  • Human perspective. An openly gay Dane who has lived and worked in France, Belgium and Egypt, Jakob leverages personal experience of cross-cultural collaboration to help clients build research that is “by all and for all.”

  • Academic grounding. MA in Comparative Religion & Rhetoric—providing the analytical toolkit to unpack culture, communication and power dynamics in global research teams.

When he is not training future PIs or advising funding bodies, you’ll find him in a small town outside Aarhus, Denmark with his husband, two dogs and an ever-growing pile of podcast microphones.
